Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while campaigning for Congress in Uttar Pradesh said that the successive non-Congress Governments in the past two decades worked for only 10% of the society and as a result 90% of the people were ignored. Rahul Gandhi added that the governments ruled the state for the past 22 years were bothered only about a particular caste or religion and blocked the development in the state. As a result the state is now lagging behind, said the Congress youth icon. “The problem in U.P is that there is not government of the people of U.P. Here the Government works for a particular caste which represents only 10% of the population. The rest 90% are ignored” said Rahul Gandhi.
“What did you get? You trusted the Cycle, but it punctured your hopes. It was rampant corruption and across the state. There were corruption and goonda raj all around. Then you trusted the elephant. But it crushed your hopes. You again witnessed large scale corruption” said Rahul Gandhi. The people of U.P were sandwiched between the elephant and Cycle” said the Congress General Secretary.
“You please see what is happening in Congress ruled states like Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Kerala or Delhi. All these states are moving forward. The fault is with your state Government. So stand up. Bring in changes by changing the state Government. Congress knows how to run a Government of aam aadmi”, Rahul Gandhi claimed.
