Rahul Gandhi terms Mayawati’s removal of tainted ministers as drama

Launching a blistering attack on BSP chief Mayawati for looting the public funds by not letting the benefits of the welfare and development schemes reach the poor, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi held her responsible for the rampant corruption in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

While speaking at a mammoth Congress rally in Uttar Pradesh as part of his Congress campaign for the recently held assembly elections in the state, Rahul Gandhi said, “Mayawati claimed that she has taken action against corrupt ministers by removing them. For five years her party reigned and indulged in corruption and looting of public funds and just three months before the elections she says she is sacking the corrupt ministers. For five years she organised the crime, supervised her corrupt ministers and officials, and before elections declares to punish tainted officials and ministers.”

“Now the public has already decided to remove you,” said Rahul Gandhi amidst cheers. Reiterating that that the people in the state of UP are fed up with this sort of drama, the Congress leader said, “It is time to remove these non-Congress parties like BSP, the BJP and the Samajwadi Party.”

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the youth of UP need to change their mindset. The Congress MP from Amethi also said that the youth needs to make UP stand on its feet without wasting more time. Twenty two years have already been wasted, added Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi assured that that Congress (I) would provide corruption-free, transparent and responsive government. The Congress General Secretary also urged the people to give Congress a chance to rule so that the state of UP will come back to the number one position again.
