Rahul Gandhi: No progress in Uttar Pradesh for the last two decades

Pointing out to present bad state of affairs in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said there has been no appreciable development in Uttar Pradesh though BSP, SP and BJP have being ruling the state for the last 22 years. The central government has been sending sufficient funds for development of the state, Rahul Gandhi said during his campaigns for the ongoing Assembly elections. Then, why there is no development, why the people have been denied the most basic needs like bijli, pani and sadak, he further said. Why there are no job opportunities here which compel the youth to leave their own state in search of jobs in other states, he added. Pointing out to fast development taking place in Congress (I) ruled states like Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, Rahul Gandhi said stagnation in UP was the result of wrong policies of these parties. Highlighting that these parties have wasted 22 years of the people without bringing any development, he made a strong appeal to them to give five years to Congress (I) and see what it can do. “We will put the state on fast track development and you will be able to see the change in the next five years,” he told the audience.
