Accusing Mayawati government for loot of central funds, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said central funds meant for welfare of poor people were siphoned off by Mayawati’s BSP leaders. Keeping in view acute unemployment in UP, Central government brought Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guaranteed Act (MNREGA) scheme for providing guaranteed jobs for the aam admi. Centre also sends huge amount of financial assistance to the state under this scheme. But in Bundelkhand, no one knows about NREGA policy even. The crores of rupees sent by the Centre are being misused by the BSP Government. The money for the poor is pocketed by BSP leaders and the needy poor are getting nothing, said Rahul Gandhi. Poverty is compelling the youth of UP to migrate to other places like Mumbai and Delhi for jobs, said Rahul Gandhi.
