Rahul Gandhi in U.P urges people to elect Congress for bringing changes in the state

The Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while addressing a number of rallies in Uttar Pradesh asked the people to support the Congress for a better U.P. He also spoke, as he has in all the public meetings, workers meet and rallies, about the grievances of the farmers and the weavers. He insisted that it was the Congress which came to the rescue of them in Bundelkhand and Bhatta-Parsaul.

“Weaver’s package - thousands of crores of rupees were sent for the crisis hit weavers in Bundelkhand. Your minister is running around in Delhi. There is CBI enquiry. They are worried saying their life is in danger.”

“Farmers were killed in Bhatta-Parsaul; atrocities were committed against their women. Who put pressure? Who fought in Bhatta-Parsaul? Who fought against corruption? Where was the Samajwadi Party?”

The young Gandhi has pointed out the good aspects of the Congress and the UPA government in different states like Kerala, Andhra, Haryana and Maharashtra. He has been insisted on the role of UP in the progress of the nation. He has been making people aware of their potential to bring in change and urging them to give the Congress a chance.

“Make the Congress win. Open our hands. Andhra Pradesh was behind UP, but now it’s ahead. We changed Kerala, Haryana, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Delhi and Andhra. Now, it’s time for UP. We’ll change UP. Without changing UP, India cannot progress.”

“In 2009 people said Congress cannot stand. The SP and the BSP said Congress party won’t win. We won. So, get ready. And make Congress win. You will see. Congress will win here and we’ll form the government. And people of UP will move forward.”

With his final and deciding interaction with the poor and the common man, the young charismatic leader has put forward a few constructive steps consequences of which are to follow while the results of the 2012 UP Assembly election is unveiled.
