Rahul Gandhi: RGMVP providing opportunities to underprivileged

Gandhi family has been working towards a number of projects for welfare of poor people. RGMVP is already running a number of poverty alleviation programmes in the area of Amethi. Rajiv Gandhi Mahila Vikas Pariyojna (RGMVP) is the flagship programme of Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust. It commemorates and takes forward the vision of Rajiv Gandhi for the country. It was set up by Gandhi family to address areas of concern that were closest to Rajiv Gandhi’s heart. It aims to translate Rajiv Gandhi’s vision into action by implementing development programmes that have sustainable impact on these areas of concern. The Trust aims at improving governance and providing enlarged opportunities to the underprivileged and the deprived. RGMVP works in the poorest areas of Uttar Pradesh, one of the least developed states in India. This programme reaches out the poorest and deprived areas of UP to bring the poor hope for a better future, a sense of self worth and the means of freedom from socio-economic oppression. It aims at empowerment of the poor, struggling to survive against adverse economic and social conditions, while achieving poverty mitigation
