The Indian National Congress kicked off the Uttar Pradesh poll campaign from Phulpur a few days ago. Party’s poster boy for the 2012 Assembly elections Rahul Gandhi hit the campaign trail right from his great grandfather’s constituency.
The war of words between the Congress and the BSP chief Mayawati has been boiling since recently. Congress' in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Digvijay Singh has quite been in news for his racy comments and counter-comments.
‘Behenji’ has recently said that the Congress wants ‘Diggi’ to be the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming UP elections. Now, he has attacked the chief minister terming her statement ‘outrageous’.
"I don't have a vote in UP. How can I when I am not even a voter in UP? She is now strongly rattled and feeling threatened by Congress. Mayawati made an outrageous statement that I may (be) in the run for CM UP!" Singh tweeted.
Singh has often been the subject of political buzz in the recent years. This is time he comes up best with that in order to help his party and Rahul. Nevertheless, how Rahul handle things ahead in the campaign is bound to affect his future.
