The Congress led UPA Government hinted that they are planning for a Lokpal institution like the Election Commission. The stand of UPA Govt. is correct and a good step aiming for a long term solution. We can recall the statement of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi during his sppech on Lokpal debate in Parliament. He also had proposed for a strong constitutional body like EC. His stand now proved right. The proposal of Team Anna is having only a short term vision and simply a bill can not tackle corruption. The solution to curb corruption from the root is most important and for that the idea mooted by Rahul Gandhi is perfect. Further it is important to note that Rahul Gandhi always wanted to open the political doors for the youth of this country and make them a part of the political system. He further had stressed that the corruption can be stopped only if the democracy reaches the grass root level. He talks sense and this is the proper method if we are serious to curb graft. Let us hope for a strong and powerful constitutional body to tackle corruption on permanent basis.
