Rahul Gandhi: UP People are fed up of dubious politics for the past 22 years

Blaming BJP, BSP and SP for backwardness of Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi has said people are now fed up with political parties indulging in dubious politics in the name of caste. He said the people have now decided to give their verdict for the Congress (I) during Assembly elections in 2012, which is apparent from the large gatherings in the meetings of the Congress (I) Party. Rahul Gandhi during his public contact programs has highlighted the Congress (I) progressive policies like MNREGA, NRHM, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Janani Sauraksha Yojana, Mid Day Meal and social welfare schemes for the poor. He said no other government brought so many progressive and welfare schemes ever before. While these schemes have been tremendous success in Congress (I) ruled states, due to corruption in Mayawati’s government the intended benefits are not reaching the poor, Rahul Gandhi said further.

Congress (I): Housing scam in Mayawati govt

Charging Mayawati for claiming to be working for the welfare of the dalits and the poor but allotted them unhygienic and substandard houses, Congress (I) has said she has indulged in large scale scam in construction of Kashiram Urban housing Scheme for the poor. She has made huge money for herself out of the housing scheme for the dalits and the poor, said Rahul Gandhi while addressing public meetings in the poll bound state. A very low quality material was used in contraction of these houses. As a result roofs of most of these houses have developed cracks. Plaster from the walls has come out in no time. Condition of the constructed houses confirms that a very low ratio of cement was used. These houses are not fit for human habitation, said Rahul Gandhi. The low quality of construction points to the real interest she has towards the welfare of the dalits and poor, he further added. Highlighting that she is more interested in money-making than in the welfare of the poor, Rahul Gandhi said she is enriching herself at the cost of the poor. He urged the people this time to vote for his party and promised that a government of the aam admi, the dalits and the poor by Congress (I) will work for their welfare.
