Congress President Sonia Gandhi while speaking at an election rally at the historic Allahabad as part of her Congress campaign for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh reminded the people that the state of Uttar Pradesh has been reeling under utmost corruption and lawlessness. She also reminded the voters the past unholy political alliances witnessed in the state. The UPA Chairperson alleged that the for the past 22 years nothing had happened in the state towards development and the state slipped backward by the anti-poor and divisive policies by the successive non-Congress Governments.
“Every where you can see cheating, corruption injustice and atrocities. If any one comes with any complaint, he will be harassed” said Sonia Gandhi.
Repeating her allegation that the Central funds were misused in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Sonia Gandhi continued “The funds for development go to the pockets of private parties. Nobody knows where the lakhs of crores of rupees sent by the UPA Government for the welfare and development of the state”.
The Congress President said that there were corruption even under the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme which was named after the great Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of honesty and non-violence.
“That is why I am telling you that the pain is so deep,” she said and added “now a fire has been broken out and no one can stand its flames ignited by the pain of the people. The tide of change has started to flow and it will definitely meet its goal of rebuilding the state of Uttar Pradesh.”
