After Chief Minister Mayawati’s demanding reservation for Muslims, Congress (I) has hit out at her saying she has raised the issue only with an eye on the upcoming assembly polls shortly due in Uttar Pradesh. Slamming Mayawati for not thinking about the Muslims as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the last five years, Congress (I) said that she is playing politics in the wake of the Assembly polls. Just because there are elections coming up in Uttar Pradesh, so Mayawati wants to play politics to mislead the Muslim community about her real intentions. She was in power as the chief minister for the last 5 years then why didn't she think about the Muslims, asked Congress (I). Now that the elections are just around the corner Muslims community knows that her talking on this issue is only a ploy to garner Muslims votes and nothing more, said Congress (I).
