Blaming Mayawati government as also Mulayam Singh Yadav’s government for having secured the votes of minority community in the past to form their governments, Rahul Gandhi has said these governments did not work for the welfare of Muslims. He said Muslims minority is not getting any benefits in Uttar Pradesh as the past governments had ignored their welfare. Sachhar Committee appointed by Congress (I)-led UPA government at the Centre made a number of recommendations for socio-economic development of Muslim community. These recommended have been implemented in Congress (I) ruled states like Delhi, Haryana and Maharashtra. Congress (I) leader while speaking at a rally in Badaun in Wes UP said, “We fulfill our promises, MNREGA was launched and Lokpal bill is coming. The state government is not willing to work.” Raul Gandhi said leaders lacked vision and they do not think in the long-term. He urged the people to give chance to Congress (I) which will bring change in UP.
